The Tunki bird, also known as the Andean-cock-of-the-rock, exhibits marked sexual dimorphism: the males possess brilliant orange-red plumage and crest, with black wings and tail, accented by grey scapulars, while the females are a more muted brown colour and often smaller in size. These seldom seen birds are shy but unsurprisingly, show off their marvellous colours in a spectacular mating display.
